Here in Shanghai, there’s finally light at the end of the tunnel.

It was mid-January in Shanghai’s vibrant, glittering Yu Gardens area. Photographers armed with tripods jostled for space with tourists wielding selfie-sticks; all awaiting ‘blue hour’, when dusk turns the sky cobalt. Crowds had flocked to the popular region to see the illuminations for the Year of the Rat. Chinese New Year was still a week and a half away. Little did we know it on that cold night, but there was something far more chilling in the air. Coronavirus was about to strike.
Fast forward two months and today, there’s light at the end of the tunnel in Shanghai, as businesses reopen and citizens
